Whether or not the black/red Air Jordan 1 was the “banned” shoe by the NBA or not still remains as an unresolved mystery, but it’s pretty much accepted that it was indeed the AJ1 that got the boot (and Jordan Brand is sticking to that story). It doesn’t really matter anymore, because the daring and aggressive combination of black and red is not the signature for the GOAT and his sneakers, and it just returned on the Mid variation of the shoe that started it all – the Air Jordan 1. Of course there are some obvious discrepancies from this new version with the actual Banned Jordan 1 like the leather/suede combination and the colour-blocking choices on the heel, but for those who will forever rock Jays in the classic Bulls themes – these AJ1s are for you.
